Ashton Higgins is a 2nd generation driver from a family that will forever be devoted to the sport of racing. His father, Shane Higgins, raced limited late model and southeast super trucks. Together with his father, Ashton has developed his love for extracurricular sports like fishing and hunting but has devoted his heart to racing. Thus, childhood for Ashton consisted of dirt bikes and weekend races which inspired him to carry-on the same passion for speed his father carried.
By four years old, Ashton began racing BMX, which quickly progressed to go-kart racing by age eight. His dedication at such a young age, coupled with a driving charisma, landed him nearly one hundred wins in karting, with several of those resulting in championship wins.
Ashton will drive on the ragged edge in order to advance his position. Which turns out to be quite successful for his 2015 season where he is currently leading bandolero point divisions in both Atlanta and Charlotte. As of July 6th, he already had had twenty-four wins out of his thirty-three races, with seven of those landing him in second place and the remaining two races obtaining third and fourth place finishes, respectively.
Constantly setting his expectations on the gold, in 2015 he has already taken the championship title in Texas at the Battle of the Big Top, placed 2nd in the winter heat in Florida, and clinched spring points at Concord Speedway. In 2014, he won both the Halloween Havoc at Concord and also the World Finals at the VIR Speedway. His winning spirit and his willingness to take chances will prove to be a continually successful combination as he finishes out the remainder of the 2015 season.
